In The Village
Thomas P.J. Bruno
In the village of a
great big city
A band of minstrels armed and ready
Arrive with their entourage and tune.
Early on a Sunday afternoon.
Take a walk and take
some pictures
Of the new and permanent pictures.
Endless shops. A rest at a cafe.
What an extraordinary day!
Oh, such
pleasantries shape our memories.
Realize. Enjoy. Make them last.
Tomorrow will make them the past.
Wander through the
Nothern Forest.
Underground catch a ride and a rest.
Visit Grandpa, way too much to eat.
Still they search for pastry along the street.
Evening comes they
take their places
On a stage of famous faces.
How can this be "The Bitter End"?
I guess that really does depend.
Rare times such as
these pass like a gentle breeze.
Realize. Enjoy. Make them last.
Tomorrow will make them the past.
Heading home, now a
chance to relax.
Most find it a time to recap
Their favorite stories of the day.
Funny how it always ends that way.
