Early Morning Blues

Mom got me up this morning. I washed and dressed and fed.
Now I'm sittin' in this classroom. I should've stayed in bed.
I need a place to lay down this heavy, heavy head.
I wish I had a pillow. I'll use my hand instead.

If you watch the late show there's one thing you oughtta know.
You got to pay the sandman his dues...
...with the early morning blues.

I hear the teacher talking. 'Don't understand a word.
'Wanting answers to questions I never even heard.
I can't help but wonder why I'm here at all.
I can't wait till class is over. I go to study hall.
