Hold On Tight

(Thomas P.J. Bruno)

An honest misconception. How could you have known?
You thought you'd be alright but you're feeling so alone.

The daylight fades. How quick it disappears.
The darkness brings new feelings. Feelings come with fears.

An awkward situation. How did this begin?
Your innocence is threatened as question closes in.

It's trying hard to win you. It's tearing you apart.
This tainted contradiction to what is in your heart.

One thought picks you up. One thought pulls you down.
Confusion makes your head go 'round.

Hold on tight. 'Better hold on to what you believe in.
Hold on tight. Hold on to you self and don't let go.

A frightful realization, so obvious to see.
Just where you'd be heading, just what you would be.

You'd better move with caution. The line is wearing thin.
A little instigation and it could all begin.

One thought picks you up. One thought pulls you down.
Confusion makes your head go 'round.

Hold on tight. 'Better hold on to what you believe in.
Hold on tight. Hold on to you self and don't let go.
